Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigateeffect of materials based on CommonKnowledge Construction Model on 8th grade gifted students? attitudes toward chemistry course. Inthis study, action research method was used. he study group consists of 29 (18girls and 11 boys) gifted and talented students in Science and Arts Center.Chemistry Attitude Scale (CAS) is used as a data collection tool. CAS's alphareliability was calculated as 0.83 in the SPSS program. CAS was applied to thestudents as a pre-test and post-test. In statistically analysis of dataobtained from CAS, paired samples t-test was used. he scale results showedthat there is a statistically significant difference between pre-test and post-testscores in favor of post-test (t(28)=2,669, p<0,05). rom this, itcould be said that the developed materials based on CKCM strategy increasedgifted students' attitudes towards chemistry. he reasons of this change couldbe the experiments in the materials used in the study were carried out by thestudents, students actively involved in each phase in the materials and eachconcept being taught by relating to everyday life.
