Turkish Adaptation Study of the Network of Relationships Inventory-Short orm

Abstract

<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size:12.6px">The aim of this study is to adapt the Network of Relationships Inventory (NRI)-Short orm (urman and Buhrmester, 1985; 2010) to Turkish high school and university students and to examine its psychometric properties for Mother and Same-Sex Best riend. During the language adaptation process, 5 language specialists evaluated the adaptation indexes. In the language validation study, 42 high school and university students completed both the nglish and Turkish forms of the questionnaire. To determine reliability and validity, 644 students were asked to participate. Then language equivalency, xploratory (A) and Confirmatory actor Analysis were examined for validity. According to A results, Turkish Version of the NRI has 2 factors like in nglish form. The fit indexes of the model in Confirmatory actor Analysis (CA) are examined for Mother and Same-Sex Best riend orm. The total and sub-areas of the Cronbach?s alpha values in the NRI are high and changes between .70 and .89. Corrected item-total correlations (between .501 and .851) are high and t-tests between items? means of upper 27%-lower 27% points are significant. Test-retest reliability is statistically significant (r=.000-.004). According to the results, the Turkish orm of NRI Short form can be used as a reliable and valid assessment tool to assess Mother and Same Sex Best riend relationships qualities in Turkey for high school and university students.</span></p>
